The Nelson Leafs Recycling Centre is partnering with the Kootenay Lake Hospital Foundation. Effective November 1 your donation of returnable bottles and cans will help support both the Nelson Leafs and the Kootenay Lake Hospital Foundation.
For years the Nelson Leafs Recycling Centre has serviced the KLHF bin at the Lakeside transfer station and during that time a total of $77,000 has been raised however the bin operation is no longer feasible and it is now closed.
Starting November 1, a portion of all returnable donations to the Nelson Leafs at the bottle depot will given to the KLHF as the depot continues its mandate to support local charities and institutions.
For the customer, this means no sorting and no more trying to stuff bottles and cans into the Lakeside bin. Simply drop your returnables off at the depot and you will continue to support the KLHF.
